Overall Impression:
I am not a big wheat beer drinker, but this beer kicks ass and has a comfort food feel that makes it a good beer on a snowy day!
Herr Mike brought over a bottle of Moonglow to compare with Aventinus (reviewed the next post below).
ReplyDeleteAlthough I will not give a full-blown review, here are my thoughts. Moonglow was much lighter in color, and it had a maltier backbone than Aventinus.
I felt Aventinus had a lot more flavor; one that was both more complex and truer to the style, as was the darker color. ReRe The Dark Beer Goddezz and I were in agreement on that. Herr Mike, still preferred Moonglow. We all agreed that both of them kicked major ass!
