Belhaven Scottish Ale

Reviewed By: Herr Rick
Style: Scottish Ale
State/Country: Scotland
ABV: 5.2%
Serving Type: Nitro-can

Look: 10
Dark brown, uber-dense head due to the nitrogen, and the awesome lacing we've come to expect from nitro-beers

Smell: 8
Sweet caramel malt

Taste: 8.5
Up Front: Mild bitterness. Finish: Sweet malt

Mouthfeel: 10
Medium body, low carbonation and silky smooth - ahhhhh!!!

Drinkability: 9.5
A great session beer that is super easy to drink

Overall Score: 9.2

Value:
9
Cost/12 oz serving: $2.00

Overall Impression:
Scottish ale is quite possibly the best style for most Newbeez, due to the lack of hop flavor that they typically confuse with bitterness. Add to that the rich malty flavor and the creaminess that nitro-cans offer, and this is a slam-dunk winner!!!
