Med amber color, big frothy head, sticky lacing

Smell: 9
Dried fruit, malt, citrus, wood

Taste: 9.5
Up Front: Brown sugar, caramel, orange, pine, grass, bread, cinnamon. Finish: earthy, hoppy, spicy, dates, alcohol

Mouthfeel: 9
Creamy, chewy, slight carbonation

Drinkability: 10
At 9.6 ABV, it’s not the most potent barley wine out there, but that’s OK with me, cause I might have another!

Cost/12 oz serving: $2.32

Overall Impression:
WOAH! This is one complex beer! It’s malty up front and has a nice hoppy finish, but there is so much going on here! This is one beer that makes me wish winter would never end! I might have to sneak one of these on a cool summer night!

Copper color, head fades quickly, light sticky lacing

Smell: 8.5
Bread, candied fruit, malty, raisins

Taste: 8.5
Up Front: brandy, toffee, vanilla
Finish: malty and sweet with a little hopiness

Mouthfeel: 9
Sticky with some light carbonation

Drinkability: 8.5
As it warms, the alcohol comes through, one is enough

Overall Score: 8.75

Cost/12 oz serving: $1.88

Overall Impression:
This is a good barleywine, but not at the top of my list. This beer will warm your ass on a cold winter night!
